Growing Good and Good Times
Stowe Mountain Bike Academy is entering its 8th season of offering mountain bike instruction and race programs, and we’re excited to continue offering high-quality experiences under the Vermont Mountain Bike Academy nonprofit umbrella.
Becoming a nonprofit positions Stowe Mountain Bike Academy for long-term growth and sustainability. This shift allows us to build a more resilient and accessible program—one that can better serve our athletes, families, and the broader community for years to come. This transition marks an important step in expanding access, support, and opportunity for young riders and the broader mountain bike community. With the ability to accept donations, apply for grants, and form mission-driven partnerships, we’re now equipped to invest in the future: expanding programming, supporting more riders through scholarships, and developing the infrastructure needed to keep riding and having fun on bikes!

Our mission will always be at the heart of everything we do - here are our goals:
Expand Access to Mountain Biking: Provide scholarships, equipment, and resources to riders who might not otherwise have the opportunity to participate.
Grow Our Programs: Offer more clinics, group rides, educational programs, and get our talented racers to bigger competitions and venues!
Foster Leadership and Stewardship: Continuing to offer high quality cycling instruction as well as offering opportunities for mentorship, leadership development, and environmental stewardship - help riders grow on and off the trails.
Strengthen Community Support: Apply for grants, accept tax-deductible donations, and partner with local businesses and organizations to amplify our impact.
Ensure Long-Term Sustainability: With additional funding and community support, we can expand facilities and reinvest in our staff through additional training and benefit programs.
Ways to Support Us
Supporting SMBA programs can come in many forms - from cash payments for our operating expenses or special initiatives to in-kind contributions for event space, coaching supplies, race team support, and more!
General Donations
General donations to Stowe Mountain Bike Academy provide essential, flexible funding or in-kind gifts that support the overall health and sustainability of our programs. These unrestricted gifts allow us to respond to evolving needs, cover operational costs, and invest in growth opportunities as they arise. By contributing to our general fund, donors help ensure we can continue delivering high-quality coaching, inclusive programming, and meaningful experiences for all our riders.

Restricted Donations
Restricted donations are contributions made to Stowe Mountain Bike Academy that are designated by the donor for a specific purpose or project. These funds help us support targeted initiatives such as athlete scholarships, equipment purchases, coach training, capital campaigns and infrastructure, and community outreach. By allowing donors to align their giving with causes they care about most, restricted donations play a vital role in advancing our mission while ensuring transparency and impact.

Please submit Sponsorship Commitments to Shannon Walton at info@stowemtb.com by May 15th, 2025 to be included on 2025 print materials and program shirts.
Benefits of sponsorship are for a period of 1 year with the expectation of Title Sponsors recognized permanently on our website.
Unused sponsorship benefits expire at the end of the year and cannot be carried forward.
